Qualifying immigrants to Prince Edward Island will have access to pro bono legal services as a result of a new partnership between McInnes Cooper and the PEI Association for Newcomers to Canada (PEI ANC).

McInnes Cooper, among the top business law firms in Canada, will provide legal counsel for PEI ANC clients whose access to justice is limited, primarily due to financial means.

PEI ANC will refer pro bono clients to McInnes Cooper, and provide space for legal counsel and clients to meet. "We are delighted to partner with the PEI Association for Newcomers to Canada", said Gary Scales, McInnes Cooper's PEI Regional Lead Partner. "This partnership will make it easier for immigrants to access legal services that will facilitate their transition into Canadian society."

"McInnes Cooper's pro bono legal services will help immigrants navigate what is to them a new legal environment", said Craig Mackie, Executive Director of PEI ANC. "These services create the opportunity for newcomers who do not have the financial resources to retain a lawyer to receive legal advice when they need it most."
