Position: Community Connections Program (CCP) Supervisor


The CCP Supervisor oversees the Community Connections Program, which includes Community Inclusion Program, English-as-an-Additional-Language Volunteer Tutoring Program, and the Volunteer Organizer. The CCP Supervisor's duties also include the integration programming which is delivered under the Community Engagement Programming (CEP) team. The CCP Supervisor reports to the CEP Coordinator.


The CCP Supervisor:

  • Develops and implements newcomer integration programs and services, in consultation with team members and the CEP Coordinator;
  • Supervises the CCP program and program staff;
  • Plans and manages the CCP budget; administers and controls purchases in relation to CCP;
  • Organizes and facilitates meetings with outside committees, community groups and organizations, and other service providers as related to the integration of newcomers into the community and to volunteer outreach to newcomers;
  • Completes monthly, quarterly and yearly reports as required;
  • Completes iCARE (the program funder's reporting system) data entry on a monthly basis;
  • Assists in the hiring process when requested to do so by the Coordinator;
  • Participates in CEP meetings and designated activities;
  • Is responsible for the training, supervision, and performance management of CCP staff;
  • Determines need for professional development and make such recommendations to the CEP Coordinator; and
  • Works with the CEP Coordinator supporting the overall management of CEP.

Education, Training and Experience

  • University degree or college diploma
  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector
  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Experience in a supervisory role
  • Valid driver's licence

Skills and Abilities

  • Fluent with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with event organization
  • Cross-cultural experience
  • Additional language would be an asset

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • May involve occasional evening and/or weekend work
  • Travel to different parts of the Province as needed
