Victoria Row was the place to be on Sunday, June 27th for the 4th annual DiverseCity festival celebrating Canadian Multicultural Day. DiverseCity was a huge success this year with over 23 cultures represented including Bhutanese, Karen, Colombian, Chinese, Taiwanese, Korean, Lebanese, Acadian, Mi’Kmaq, Filipino, and Afghan, to name a few. Diversity was the theme of the day with over 3,000 people in attendance, recent newcomers, more established immigrants, and Island-born residents all among them.

The PEI Association for Newcomers to Canada would like to thank everyone who took part and supported PEI’s only annual multicultural festival. Special thanks to all the performers who contributed their talents with dancing, music and cultural demonstrations. Huge thanks to the vendors of the International Food Fair and to the many ethno-cultural organizations that set up information booths and to all who assisted with activities. We also extend our gratitude to our sponsors - the PEI Population Secretariat, PEI Department of Tourism and Culture, Canadian Heritage (Celebrate Canada), City of Charlottetown, Confederation Centre of the Arts, Downtown Charlottetown Inc. and Tourism Charlottetown.

Once again a thank-you to everyone who made DiverseCity 2010 a memorable occasion and we hope to see you all next year when we once again celebrate Canadian Multiculturalism Day!
