Labo: Japanese Youth Exchange Program
Be a Host Family
Posted: Monday 18th April 2011 06:29
'Labo' is a non-profit youth organization for Japanese children. The program provides a chance for Japanese youth to improve their English language ability as well as learn about new cultures and expand their personal horizons.
The Labo International Exchange Program has been organizing home stay and academic exchanges since 1972. At this time (April 2011), they are looking for host families for ten Japanese youth aged 12 to 16.
Host families are asked to welcome the participant into their home and treat him or her like a member of the family. Labo also provides support for this volunteer opportunity.
As a host family you will help Japanese youth:
- develop friendships around the world
- improve their English language skills
- explore new cultures
