One Book, One Island - Summer Reading Event

The PEI provincial library is encouraging every Islander to read the novel Still Life by award-winning Canadian mystery author Louise Penny.

The idea is called 'One Book, One Island' and it promotes what is essentially an island-wide book club. Branches of the provincial library are carrying copies of the book in both English and French, and in both electronic and print formats. Public library cardholders can purchase it at 'The Bookmark' book store in Charlottetown at a 10 % discount.

"'One Book One Island' is a fun, new initiative that will help foster an Island-wide discussion on reading,” said Culture Minister Robert Vessey in a news release.

In September, Penny will visit Prince Edward Island to discuss her book and support the 'One Book, One Island' program.
