Access to Business Support Programs in Rural Communities

For Entrepreneurs, Businesses and Community Groups

As a result of the PEI Government's Rural Action Plan, Rural Action Centres have been established in several Island communities, to provide access to government programs for entrepreneurs, businesses and community groups. The centres operate in Alberton, Central Bedeque, Montague, Souris, and Wellington.

The following services are provided at the Rural Action Centres:

  • Business Guidance
  • Business Loans and Counselling for SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises)
  • Community and Project Development
  • Entrepreneur Education and Management Assistance for Start Ups
  • Expansion and Diversification
  • Government Services for Community Economic Development and Entrepreneurs
  • Tourism Product Development and Marketing
