Cycling Events and Becoming a Volunteer with Cycling PEI
Some Things to Know about Cycling on the Island
Posted: Thursday 4th August 2011 13:37
PEI is a good place for riding a bicycle, and it is getting better. Cycling PEI (CPEI) is the official bicycling organization in the province, with active programs in mountain biking, road racing and coming soon, BMX. Because children start cycling better in an off-road situation, they place most of their training emphasis for youth at mountain bike facilities.
During the summer months CPEI needs volunteers to assist with programs and help with events. Please contact CPEI to volunteer.

* NOTE: This schedule is subject to change. For the latest up-to-date schedule, check out the CPEI event calendar.
Please note: Wearing a helmet while riding a bicycle is the law. CPEI will not allow anyone without a helmet to participate in their events.

CPEI does not loan out bicycles, but sometimes has them available for use on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday rides. This is a good way for those looking to buy or rent a bicycle to discover which type best suits their needs. Check ahead for availability.
If you know someone who cannot see well enough to ride a bicycle, CPEI has a program that matches experienced riders on tandem bicycles (two-seated) with visually impaired people who want to get aerobic exercise. Why don't you join the two-wheel revolution? Volunteer or get fit with Cycling PEI!
