This section of the PEI ANC website is referred to as the 'Guide for Newcomers to Prince Edward Island', or the 'Guide' for short. It is intended for new immigrants settling in Prince Edward Island (PEI), Canada.

In the Guide you will find basic information about:

  • what should be the first steps to take when you have just arrived
  • essential Canadian documents and how to obtain them
  • elementary aspects of everyday living in Canada and on the Island

This information will help you settle easier and faster, so you can enjoy your new environment and participate in the society to your fullest potential.

How to Use the Guide

You can browse the Guide by using the navigation to the right, or by clicking on the links on the Guide Map page. If you have just arrived, you may want to glance through all the sections, just to familiarize yourself with the content. You can then revisit the sections relevant to your current situation as you are progressing through phases of getting settled.

On top of each page there are icons on which you can click to share the Guide pages via email or social networks. Clicking on the 'print' icon on a chapter title page will display the entire chapter in a print-friendly format. Clicking on the same icon on an inside page will display only that page for printing.

External Resources

In the Guide we have included many links to external web pages and documents for your convenience, so you can easily find more information on particular topics, or access documents or forms you might need. Note that we do not have control over the content of those pages and documents, and we are not responsible for their availability or the accuracy of information displayed there. Also, the majority of the external resources are available in English only, and sometimes in English and French. Just a few external resources are available in additional languages.
