CUSO, one of Canada’s largest volunteer sending agencies, will launch the first edition of Dance for the World. The evening will feature everything from Reggae to Celtic to Salsa to Middle Eastern Belly dancing. There will be performers from Africa, Asia, Middle East along with local celtic dancers followed by live Latin and Reggae dance lessons, world music with DJ Willie Garcia. Tickets for the event are $10.00 each – though participants who raise $100 in donations for CUSO are admitted for free. Children under 12 are admitted FREE. Tickets will also be available at the door...

Similar Dance for the World events will also be held in Calgary and Ottawa. All money raised will go to the CUSO Volunteer Partnership Fund which helps support the work of CUSO’s partners in the developing world – work that includes projects on HIV/AIDS, the environment and equal access to justice for all.

CUSO works in nearly 20 countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and Latin America. It has more than 200 volunteers in the field and has been sending professionals overseas for more than forty five years.

Tickets for the event are $10.00 each – though participants who raise $100 in donations for CUSO are admitted for free. Children under 12 are admitted FREE. This will be a chance to get off the couch and dance for a good cause on a November evening. Of course, wallflowers will also be welcome!

In addition to the dancing and exciting music there will be a silent auction, Fair Trade Crafts for sale and delicious food supplied by local international food vendors including flavours from Europe, Africa and Asia.
