Kindergarten Registrations 2019

For children born in 2014

Was your child born outside of Canada and/or you speak a language other than English or French at home? Is your child eligible to start kindergarten in September 2019? If yes, they should get registered at the EAL/FAL Reception Centre.

English as an Additional Language (EAL) and French as an Additional Language (FAL) services are provided in PEI for children from kindergarten to grade 12. Children and youth who speak a language in the home other than English or French, or who were born outside Canada, are eligible for these services. All school-aged children who meet these criteria must contact the EAL/FAL Reception Centre before registration into the public education system.

Children born in 2014 are eligible to start kindergarten in September 2019.

If you have not yet completed a kindergarten registration at the EAL/FAL Reception Centre for your eligible child, you should call or email as soon as possible to set up an appointment.

When you come for your appointment, please bring the following documents:

  1. landing papers for the child and parents or guardians
  2. proof of address in PEI (e.g. rental agreement or a bill mailed to you with your name and address)
  3. immunization records (if these records are not at PEI Public Health)
